SOME OF THE COOVIAGRO PARTNERS

Miguel Angel Lovaglio

He properly followed in his father’s footsteps, inheriting the wisdom and the passion for viticulture, achieving increase by 100% planting vineyards and to cultiva- ted varietals by his father, he added the variety Tannat and Sirah; producing High-end wines of diffe- rent varieties in La Bodega del Viento, where he is Partner-President. The winery equipped with the Highest technology was inaugurated in August 2017.

Arzelan Winery

The winemaking activity was initiated by Quintin Rivero, who made the first plantations around 1884, in El Acheral and Santa Juana farms. He formed a family with Sara Flores, having seven children. One of her daughters acqui- res the Buena Vista farm in Angastaco where she expands viticulture and other son continues with the activity, incorporating new varieties such as torrontes, cabernet franc and malbec.

Isasmendi Winery

The Isasmendi family has a wine history that dates back to 1831, when the last realistic governor of Salta, Don Nicolás Severo de Isasmendi, founded the Bodega Colomé. In 1854, his daughter Ascención, married to José Benjamín Dávalos, introduced the first prefiloxeras vines of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec from France. Ricardo Isasmendi and his wife Sylvie honor that legacy when they decide to found Bodega Isasmendi, in Cachi, in the Alto Calchaqui Valley.

Finca Matich

In 1914, the yugoslav Mateo Matich arrives in the country in search of new horizons. In order to realize his dream, he built his winery on the San Luis farm, planting his vineyards of criolla grapes, torrontes and cabernet, producing his own wines handmade.
His son continued with this family tradition and following this path, the eldest grandson of Mateo Matich continues making homemade wine in a small terroir called Finca Matich de la Banda de Abajo.

Its president usually compares growing vines, with making a barbecue:

If it is done for 300 people, part will be burned, part raw, part good, however, if it is done for 10 people, everything is even, perfect and ready. With the vineyard the same thing happens, in 300 ha of vineyards, the grapes are harvested at the wrong time, a part could brotten; however if you grow 20 hectares, you give personalized attention, you work it by hand, and the whole harvest is in optimal condition and you can decide the exact time of harvest to make Premium Wines
